Pay attention to how things are presented if you want to get better at recognizing Western Capitalist Ruling Class (CRC) propaganda.
Ever notice in Western WW2 military documentaries, the Germans they interview are referred to as “German Army” etc and not using the correct label, Nazi? These same programs usually present Hitler and Nazism as one of the greatest manifestations of evil, so why are they trying obfuscate actual Nazis?
Now take a look at this bio from Wikipedia for Guy Martin, a British mechanic, former motorcycle racer, TV presenter and author. I happened to watch a program hosted by him and was curious who he was, so I googled and read his wiki bio. Something grabbed my eye.
His grandfather being described as a “political refugee” from 1947 Latvia is a statement that should raise questions. Latvia was part of the USSR and in the years following WW2, many Nazis were escaping via Ratlines, or being recruited by the US, UK, ignored by European nations, and blending in so as to avoid retribution. So a “political refugee,” in this context, is an euphemism for a Nazi.
I searched “Guy Martin Latvian grandfather” and discovered an old post promoting a special in which Guy would be visiting Latvia to learn about his grandfather, the 1947 “political refugee.”
Guy travelled to Latvia to learn about his grandfather, Walter Kidals, the “political refugee” from 1947 Latvia. What did he find out?
Ope! Grandad was part of the notorious Latvian Legion. The legion consisted of two divisions of the Waffen-SS: the 15th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Latvian), and the 19th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (2nd Latvian).
Who could’ve guessed grandpa had fought on the side of the Nazis?

I was able to recognize the need to question “political refugee from Latvia in 1947” because I’ve learned so much history in my studies over the last several years. I’ve been reading my way through imperialist history, from the perspective of the US CRC – which is what we’re taught in school and how history is presented in mainstream culture – and from those who have been their targets.
Why does it matter that some British celebrity’s grandpa was in the Latvian Legion, affiliated with the Nazi SS, before escaping a British POW camp in Belgium, eventually escaping to North England?
Well, if, “He’s a fuckin’ NAZI” isn’t compelling enough, I can cover that in a follow-up post to this one.
